Lightbulb Remote start for 2005 Coupe 6MT

So, I need to consult the gurus... (that's you... )

I posted this thread --> https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics/194699-remote-start-transponder-bypass.html

I can't get a straight answer to save my life. I need to know if my 2005 Coupe 6MT needs a immobilizer bypass. According to half the websites I search, only the 2007 Coupe needs the bypass. The no other Coupe is even listed.

The others recommend the DEI XK07. Ugh, I'm frustrated. I won't start the install until I find out whether I need this or not. I don't want to let this thing sit in the box, so help me get this project off the ground.

6mt and remote start don't mix.... Especially aftermarket remote starters. If you park your car in any gear and someone accidently presses the remote start, accidents are going to happend...

So, I was actually looking for the answer to my question.

There are a truckload of you guys who have this exact setup in your G's. I know, I read all about them before buying mine. Thanks for hooking me up with the RIGHT INFO...

any auto really, except some manuals offer a signal wire that is activated if the car is in neutral, like an 06 mazda 6 for example. with this wire the remote start will not work unless your in neutral..i was wondering myself if the g offered this wire. if not you could always install 7 pins switches in the shifter housing in each gear slot, 6 gears plus reverse so if the car were to be in gear, one of the pin switches will be pressed deactivating remote start. any dei alarm has a neutral saftey wire to make sure an automatic is in park or neutral. just some info

6MT works fine because the G has a neutral safety wire. I have had mine for over 2.5 years and did the install myself.

Yes it does need the immobilizer bypass. I took out my gauges and put the module behind them.

Great question. I'm sure the 2005 G Coupe 6Mt offers some sort of wire/system that allows this.

Others who have installed into a 6MT transmission, utilize the CompuStar product. I picked one of those up. I'm hoping one of these guys can answer the question as to the transponder issue, rather than the "in-gear leap" that we may be confronted with if the car starts in gear.

Will the DEI XK07 do the trick? For the 2005 G Coupe 6Mt.

I need to clarify.

Many sites, such as Directed.com show the need for immobilizer bypass for several vehicle year, make and model.

For the G35 Coupe, the year listed as requiring a transponder is only the 2007 model. Several others who have installed this device say YES, a transponder is required. I can get no real answer on it.

Anyone, the XK07? Yes/No?

What a friggin' concept, call Directed.

So, Cynthia says... XK07 is the big daddy of immobilizers and I should use it, because it'll work, regardless of their site's lack of detail.

Yay... finally. This felt like sitting on the pot at 2am for an hour, when you have to get up for work at 6. Ugh, frustrating.

i just finished installing the Autopage RS-1000 into my 04 Coupe MT yesterday. i used the "XK07" to bypass the the immobilizer. It works great, i think it's better then using the universal because you don't have to run as much wires and it is smaller too. for the neutral safety switch wire, just pull off the panel on the passenger side and remove the black cap to the ECU to expose the wires and you should be able to spot the "green/orange" wire.

I have a remote start on my 6MT as well (Seems like you've already figured it out tho) but for anyone else yes you'll need immboilizer bypass for ALL G35s.

Tip: if you ever need to leave your car in gear.. flip your remote from the belt clip the other way around.. so when you reach for it you'll be like ohhhhh..

also FYI do not depend on the neutral saftey switch.. it DOES NOT work 100% yes it does work sometimes but for some reason it wont ALWAYS work.. (for ****s and giggles i've tried remote start with the car in gear about 10 times) out of the 10 times the safety switch failed once in 3rd gear ._.

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate them. I'll remember them most when I'm parked on the top of a parking garage.

Klumzyee - I may be talking to you about a front lip for my Coupe - if you have them.

hello to all, i was reading this post, and i used to install this kinda stuff on a daily basis. I have a 2005 6mt with a remote start, and when i put it in 2 years ago, i didnt know there was a neutral safety switch on my car, is it possible to get where this wire is located, and what color this wire would be. i have been just never leaving my car in gear anywhere, cause i wouldnt want that **** to jump. so if someone could let me know where this wire is, and what color it is that would be great
