After an extensive search, I needed a remote start that would work well with Manual Trans. I suppose that's your question, auto or manual?

Auto, you can use anything from cheapie to uber expensive. I have manual, so my options are more limited, however I still went with a very nice one from CompuStar (www.compustar.com). They work with both auto and manual, and have plenty of bells and whistles. MSRP about $400-600. Ebay around $230-$375.

Have fun with it, find the options that suit you.

PS, Don't forget to get your immobilizer.

I have installed a compustar system P2W900FMR-AS (I paid 300can)
I used a ads-al ca idatalink immboilizer bypass (I paid $75.00can)

It works great. My year 03 you couldn't used the door and lock module so i just ran extra wire to the door also i hook up window roll down and roll up when you lock the door. Trunk works too.

All installed. Apparently, a majority of my wiring was different color than expected. We had to get down and dirty with a multimeter to make sure we had everything right. The only thing I don't have working on it yet, is the after-market version of the OEM "window roll down" when holding the unlock key. The extended triggers weren't doing the same thing as the factory key fob, so I'll have to investigate that.

If anyone knows about the roll-down, using after market... let me know. I'd like to get that working, hopefully without installing an additional module.

The setup - CompuStar - with iDataLink transponder bypass.

I would have your tranny looked at. This is a 'safety' feature from Nissan designed to prevent free reving the motor. I've heard about people messing these switches up by shifting the car hard while racing. This switch is internal to the tranny and should work 100% of the time.

to roll windows with CompuStar you the installer can program the alarm brain or use window modules. with CompuStar it can be program to give an extended trigger for the programmed time. given example, if it is program to 30 seconds, your windows will roll for 30 seconds and you can't make it stop in the middle of the operation. it is better if you have window modules so you can make the windows roll and stop at your desire position. that's why i installed the Autopage rs-1000 into my G Coupe. i just use different channels to roll the windows and i can make it roll and stop at any position i want to be.

I currently have the Compustar 2W900FM system on 2 MT cars and absolutely love their gear. I do leave my cars in first gear (and don't remote start) whenever I'm parked on an incline. I had ebrake troubles on a previous car and can't imagine how I would feel if I saw my car rolling away due to the ebrake being too lose.

For you 6MT G owners with Compustar - do you have trouble with automatic headlights shutting off after you place your car in reservation mode? My 6MT Maxima headlights won't shut off when placed in reservation mode (installer can't figure it out). My other car ('03 Eclipse GTS) does fine with it.

^^^ You need to pulse the door pin wire after the ignition shuts off. If the car never thinks you open the door it never shuts the headlights off.
