you can let it warm up for 30 secs when cold...but i rarely warm up and go

 

I have nothing but bad luck with Mobil 1, burning excessively on a lot of engines...not just 350Z's. Anyone have this experience with high oil consumption with Mobil 1?

We had a customer walk in...had the new VW R32 complaining of burning about 1 qt every 3K miles using Mobil 1. He switched to Motul 8100 and no burn off at all. And this guy is really **** about his oil changes and observations. Just something to think about.

 

Which Mobil 1? 5w30? 0w40?

 

If I remember correctly, it was the 0w40.

 

In your opinion were they burning it up while in cold start type mode (0w too thin?) or where they burning oil pretty much all the time?

 

I feel sorry for the oil burners.

 

I really don't know. All I know, is that when he switched to Motul 8100 5/40 he reported zero oil consumption. He comes in from time to time, so I will ask him on his driving behaviors.
