Anyone read the article in the new Sport Compact Car?

They tested the Nismo S-tune 350Z, Nismo R-tune 305Z, and a regular 305Z. After installing $14k in parts they gained 10hp and 0.1 sec in the quarter. The S-tune gained 0.05g and the R-tune gained 0.03g. Stopping distance actually got worse.

I like the Nismo parts and believe if anyone can tune our cars right it would be them but those numbers don't look too good.

I read the same article and was as disappointed you are. Alot of cash for pretty much nothing.

man..u would think nismo would make the best parts for nissan..and give it the most advantage..go figure..

 

Their is a independent dyno on the Nismo header on my350Z.com (somethings wrong with my350z's data base and the search feature doesn't work, or I'd post the link to the thread) It does make power, close or equal to Nismo's claimed amount if I recall, 9 to 13hp. Only header that is a better design are the Crawford headers.

I've always been annoyed because they hardly offer anything for the G here in the states (key chains and mugs don't count) and the few things they do offer are outrageously priced. But I never expected to read an article such as this...tisk tisk tisk Nismo. I may have to go back to calling them Cheesmo [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]

Given this data, I would say NISMO has NO real interest in performance and EVERY interest in making lots of $$$ at our expense. These types of business practices are exactly what drives me to other manufacturers. Thanks for the report.
