Engine shuts off after 1/4 mile at the track...

Hey all, im having trouble at the track when i race my car, at the end of a quarter mile race, my ar turns off, and a bunch of lights come on, namely ABS, check engine, service engine soon, battery, etc.

is this a common thing as in the pumps have a lot of gas flowing and they over inject into the cylinders or something, every time i get to a stop at the end my car is dead... HELP!

PS, ive gotten it down to where i can rev a few times and use the gears to keep the revs high and that works, but id rather not have to eat up my clutch on the downshifts too... also, the car can be started right back up as im slowing down.

any help is appreciated!!!

Kevin

+1 Mine was doing this when I swapped out throttle bodies... even had the dealer reset the new one and still had the same problem after a little driving. I put the old throttle body back on, and so far everything is fine.

i got a 14.0 w/ test pipes and intake, no tune or anything... but my clutch was fried after run 2, i got 2 more in, but my clutch was freaking out, like 2.5 60 foots but with a 14.0 1/4

heres my best run:
Goal:
triple digit trap
13 second 1/4
2.0xx 60 foot

Reality: (look how close i was)
99.99 mph trap
14.034 1/4
2.100 60 foot

1/100th of a mph on the trap
1/100th of a second on the 60 foot,

Let me guess, you finish the run then you push the clutch in and start slowing down. If so, this is a very common problem with running an intake on a 6MT VQ35DE. It usually only will happen at higher speeds (typicially above 60mph).

Probably not a new TB... a tune should take care of it. After installing my intake I found I have the same problem - anything over 55 or so when I put in the clutch (neutral), my revs will drop and car will stall.

After all my other bolt-ons, the problem has NOT gone away - contrary to what others told me about the ECU "learning" to adapt to mods. I think that's bull.

INtake

Its your intake, I put on a ztube with factory filter and didn't have this problem. After adding the stillen intake the car will shut down on the interstate when its put in neutral. First couple of times it happens it gets pretty scary.
