Best Bang for your Buck
Best Bang for your Buck
Figured I would go opinion trolling. Everyone seems to enjoy giving theirs. I was wondering what people in this community think is the best "Bang for your Buck" mods. For instance if you have to spend $2000 or $3000 for a 25HP increase, but you could get 50HP for just another $1000. What are the best mods? I guess the easiest way to do this would be HP/Dollar. Although, I am sure that might be slightly too simplistic. What does everyone think?

Re: Best Bang for your Buck
I would just do a Vortech SC and whatever else is needed if I was buying today. Might require exhaust and a chip to really do that right.
Intake you will be removing with TT or SC and you will be reflashing the chip to stock and then remodding it.
I think you could spend 4-6k on NA mods and get about 20 rwhp.

Re: Best Bang for your Buck
The best bang for your buck mod IMO doesn't involve HP but is a go fast goodie in the turns. I would say a good set of sway bars. You will definitiely feel the difference and will like the tighenting up of the body roll in corners.

If you're looking for mods that make your car go faster not just in a straight line, my suggestion would be to spend the money on a driving school if possible. Not only will it make your car faster, but it will make you a much better driver. And the best part is, it's not wasted money whenever you get rid of your G!

HAHA rwj that's a GREAT Idea! I say NO2 is the best mod if you want some more HP. Otherwise I would spend my 2-3k on..
1. Borla exhast (650)
2. EBC Cross drilled rotors (700 for all 4)
3. TEIN suspension with EDFC (1,900)
Total, about 3,250
Thanks - Joey Avino

I Agree with rwjcp721. In the Alfa club we refer to the best mod as " tightening up the nut behind the wheel" !
I completely changed the way I drove and how much I could get out of a car after attending a couple of drivers schools.
I would only do sway bars if you are doing serious time on the racetrack. I had a car ( Alfa Milano ) with both bigger sway bars and stiffer springs and then with just the sway bars. When you stiffen up the car you reduce compliance, which is desperately needed for the street. You think your faster because you don't lean as much but what you're really doing is skipping over road imperfections and reducing traction. For the track you can go stiff 'cuz it's so smooth.
Just my $.02, your mileage may cary !
