Aftermath...

After i finish running on the highway and got home. I park my car perfectly and took out the key. As i open my door, i heard strange noise from the car. The sound is from the bottom of the car...it sounds like some metal is clicking constantly, or its like liquid dropping onto metal...
Do you guys have this strange noise also...or its just me?
Whats the problem...if there is any?

Re: Aftermath...

Sounds like you had some 'dieseling' or 'engine run-on' which can happen if you run the car very hard and shut off the ignition.
It happens occasionally but shouldn't happen often. If it persists, have the dealer check it out.

Re: Aftermath...

My guess is that it might just be part of the exhaust (cat or something) "cooling off" because i've also heard it on cars/bikes that i've driven after driving them kind of hard and when trying to see where it comes from is from the exhaust pipe around the cat.

I and others have the same noise. It is the exhaust expanding and contracting.

Re: Aftermath...

Yeah I get those ticking noises all the time. Sometimes its a series of one loud click followed by a few ticks. Almost like a grandfather clock...
