SVH vs. Wire looms
i posted this in the Detailing/Eye Candy forum, but no bites, so I have feeling I'll find the answers over here .. as most people are talking about waxing and polishing in the Detailing forum....
So my question is, what's the opinion out there for engine dress up?
Should I go with wire loom or Silicon Vac Hose to dress up all those unsightly wiring harnesses? here are some pixes for comparison (my colors will be different)
SVH
Wire Loom (tinman's ride)
I already have Earl's ProLite 350 braided hose for the smaller coolant, brake and tranny lines and a SAMCO kit on order for the larger radiator hoses.

Re: SVH vs. Wire looms
That top picture would look great as the car of an Edmonton Oiler's fan! Same colour scheme as the traditional jersey ie. orange and blue!
I think you have to decide what sort of look you're after. It's definitely not going to look stock after you're through though!

Re: SVH vs. Wire looms
i think the silicone hose looks nicer in the pix becuse there is so much of it. but the fact that the wire loom is cheaper would sell me on that. plus, i think if done right, the wire loom can look just as nice as the SVC.

Re: SVH vs. Wire looms
check out this expanded mesh sleeving instead of split loom. They come in different colors and even a chrome like finish.

Re: SVH vs. Wire looms
THANKS!!! Now that's the freaken reason why I call this forum home!
I mean, you post up.. "should I go with A or B" and someone comes back says "Hey, check out C!"
this stuff looks great. It'll match my Prolite 350's, costs nuthin compared to the SVH and looks a lot better than loom (close up).
Thanks again...
NOW...anybody got any ides on terminations or connectors for these so they don't fray.

Re: SVH vs. Wire looms
They say to just use some heat shirnk on the ends to terminate. You can get heatshirink in colors too. Or you could go with some hex anodized aluminum hose ends the type that is decorative only that slips over the spring type hose clamps, that would look bad ***.
