ah, thought you knew the plenum (upper and lower) have to come off.

The cam timing solenoid (thing with gasket at the front) doesn't need to come off.

I re-read your original help post. Yes that big thing in the middle of the engine has to come off to get the valve cover off.

should i put it back together and take it to the shop??? People tell my that taking the top portion job opens up the valve or something like that....that it should be done by a professional. Not sure what to do...confused at this time...can you guys help. How much would something like that cost?

Considering you already have the valve cover bolts off and the seal has been opened. I would try it yourself if you're ok with the work.

The plenum is pictured in that link, upper parts lower parts as well as precautions. Up to you.

If and when you put it back together plug all the coil packs in the right order.

Have you done this before yourself? Maybe you can help me...heheh come over heheh....live in Fontana. On the reals tho...What can go wrong? I have never done this before and usually people say that an oil sparkplug that pistion would have to be removed and fixed. They tell me not to remove it myself...it can change the settings or something.

I kinda know my way around the engine bay.

Oil on the plugs is not good, that's why you're changing the valve covers correct?

Maybe you should just put it back together.

Take off the plenum like those instructions say. tape up the holes that becomes exposed. You can than take off the valve cover. Put in the new one and put it all back together.

You can download the factory service manuals here. http://www.phatg20.net/component/opt...c,select/id,9/

Make sure not to mess with the throttle body or the MAF while doing this project. You might need an in./lb. torque wrench to reinstall the plenum if you're not familiar with the process.
