OBDII scanner recommendations
I did a search and couldn't find any relevant information on this - I found this site http://www.diydiagnostics.com/. They have some pretty reasonably priced scanners compared to a lot of other tools I found online.
Has anyone purchased from these guys?
Does the product work as advertised, and any issues with shipping or anything?
Thanks,
Joe

Watch out for the simple low cost units that just read code numbers and do little else.
Real diagnosis of engine/tranny /abs etc require the ability to actually read the voltages from sensors and observe the waveforms.
The best units use laptops to store a large software program and a specialty cable [$50-$80] to interconnect OBD2 port with laptop/palm etc.
A quality digital VOM with 3.5 digits or more with a 15-20 ampere dc current position is often necesssary in trouble shooting sensors.

look into the ELM 323
http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...-8&sa=N&tab=wf
for a laptop, data logging is key and there are a lot of free apps
I have one and love it.
