Is it just the bad quality of online sound clips, or does the HKS take away a little of the growl of the G35? What I would really like is a louder, more powerful version of the stock exhaust with some better-looking tips. HKS owners-is the HKS for me?

Thanks a lot

Sounds to me like you're looking for the Fast Intentions.

Hmm...I haven't heard much about them. I would just like the HKS to maintain that growl that OEM exhaust has at low-range RPMs, because I'm trying to convince myself that I want the HKS, as so many people seem to love it.

If you do a little more reading you might find that the Fast Intentions and HKS are the two exhausts that people on here are most pleased with. HKS is more for people that like a really loud exhaust. Fast Intentions is more for those who want something to maintain the stock sound only louder. The guys who developed it described it as "the stock VQ exhaust on steroids". Pretty accurate description, actually!

There's a bunch of vids on YouTube. Fast Intentions Intimidator

My friend got the HKS Hi power for his 350Z and when he reved the engine his friend (also with a Z) first said "snap crackle pop" then followed it up with "Are you revin a honda behind that?" my point being do you think it sounds rice?

Are all of these exhaust mandrel bent? Is this a necessity when considering an upgraded exhaust? Are stock G35 exhaust mandrel bent?

HKS Ti FTMFGDW!

Lets just say ive been flagged down by people asking me what kind of exhaust that is, when people are behind me at a stoplight all eyes are drawn down to my pipes and those big luscious Ti tips. And theres nothing like that growl when i start her up in the morning.

That's exactly what I am worried about. I would hate to spend $1300 on an exhaust just to find out that it sounds too ricey for my preferences. How do you owners think it sounds?

My friend had an altered atmosphere exhaust then switched to the HKS hi-power and noticed there was a huge difference in how loud the exhaust was. I have been listening to sound clips but its hard to really know how loud each sytem is. Basically im looking for a good balance of power and sound. Any opinions?...Im leaning towards the HKS

G35 Coupe "Sport Package"
no love for the Fujitsubo?

IMO from all the exhausts I have heard, HKS, AAM, Tanabe, FI, Greddy, Borla, RS*R, it has the best overall sound and performance for a NA application.

FI v. Stillen Exhaust

g'mornin all, my very first post (new register).

I'm lookin at giving my G a little performance and was hoping I could get some input as to what brands to go with for Exhaust and In-take.
I got an 07 G35S sedan and naturally, Stillen came up when I asked around.
After viewing several forums, I have learned that FI (Fast Intentions) might be a better bet, then reading a few more, a few other names came up. I am looking for a nice growl but more importantly, at the "best bang for buck" range. Of course, since I initially was going to get the Stillen Gen 2 exhaust and long tube in-take this w/e at their customer appr. day w/ free install in Costa Mesa, CA, my pockets aren't that conservative. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Danny.
