Spark Plugs with Oil Consumption Issues (see pics)
So I'm dealing with an oil consumption issue on my 2006 6MT coupe. I have ~16k on my car right now. I've completed almost 3000 miles of my OC testing and it has been noted that my engine does consume oil. I have been curious as to what this is doing to sensitive components like spark plugs, O2 sensors, and catalytic converters. Last night my wife was watching some stupid show so I decided to go out to the garage and pull the plugs on the drivers side bank (2-fwd, 4-mid, 6-aft). The pics below show the plugs. The single plug pic is #4 (drivers side mid cylinder). The set of three is #2 on the left, #4 in the middle, and #6 on the right. Looking at the plugs my first assumption is that the crusted light-brown build up is due to the excess oil deposits. See the link below regarding fouled up plugs. Anyone else have input on this? Next I would like to peek at the O2 sensors and the cats. I have looked at the injectors and they have a substantial amount of oily substance coating the outside of them....a little too much in my opinion for a car with <20k on it.
