Calculate HP base on OBD II data?
Anyone know how to "approximate" the horse power based on OBD II data?
I'm writing my own OBD software and I want to calculate HP similar to how Digimoto (http://www.digimoto.com/demos/dyno/dyno.htm) calculates HP.

You can approach the problem by using air flow---how much air does it take to make a HP, but that needs to ASSUME efficiency. 255 grams per second could make 290-330 HP. But how much is lost after flrwheel is of course variable.

My guess is they just use calculus to measure the rate of speed changes in 0.001 second steps [vehicle weight and gearing].
