How is the car get grounded?

Seeing a few posts around about aftermarket grounding systems, I realized that I do not understand how does the car get grounded. Is it thru tires? Or is there something that I am missing completely …

Should answer all your questions. I haven't bought mine. Yet.

Thank you, but this is not what I meant ... I guess if the car is grounded through tires, does it really make sense to invest in high grade wire tp ground separate components of the car if you final point is a steel core encapsulated in rubber and silicone (that’s what tires made out of right? ) which it seems to me would provide the highest resistance .... I hope my questions is clearer now

The ground is to the battery, nothing to do with the tires. This is not a true earth ground, it's a 12V potential across the battery. The chassis battery is grounded to the chassis.

Like TTrank said, the entire chassis is a ground, or a common low potential point. If you look at the battery, the negative terminal is directly connected to the chassis. That is your common ground. Whatever current flows from your possitive terminal will eventually go back to the chassis or in this case ground.
Think of your car ground like an airplane ground. An airplane doesn't have to be connected directly to "earth ground" to operate. As long as there is a common potential for the current to return then it should work.

And you thought electrons flow from the positive terminal while they really flow from the chassis ground back to battery in reverse.
