Question Motordyne 5/16" Spacer

Hey all! Just wondering if installing a Motordyne 5/16" Spacer will compromise my engine's reliability... ie is it "unhealthy"? Or, is it ultimately inconsequential insofar as the engine's health should be concerned?? I just installed my new Stillen cai w/ Z-tube, love the sound and little extra boost. Also put on those JDM clears (for the Skyline), they look alot cleaner than the OEM oranges!

Cheers all, hope the week's been a good one so far...

Nope it will not affect reliability at all, and the little extra boost is AWESOME! One of the best mods i put on my car hands down

Smile awesome!

Yeah, I've heard from a few enthusiasts that it's been their favorite mod! I'm stoked to buy one and put it on...

Thanks for the input Steve!

this mod should not adversely affect your engine.

if you drop one of the plastic spacers in there while installing it, you could compromise your engine's reliability

check my DIY vid for tips.

I haven't come across any long term data on this or other boards of engine damage (running lean, etc.) from the spacer so you should be fine. Ask Tony (Hydrazine).

BTW - While the JDM clears look nice, they are not DOT legal (amber reflectors are a federal DOT requirement) so you can ticketed with them, though most people don't.

It doesn't do anything adverse to the engine. There have been countless MD spacers installed over the last 4 years without issues.

Are you sure about this?... The “lamp” must be amber, but I don’t think it needs to be an amber "reflector"… therefore you can have a clear lense as long as it lights up amber… I could be wrong – but if you read 25102 in the CVC I’m pretty sure it reads that way… CA would not have more lenient regs than Fed.
