Engine too loud?

Before everyone start flaming, I know G35 engine and is meant to be loud.

But I'm curious if my 03' G35 Engine is excessively louder than others? I bought the car used and since I never driven another 03' G35 Coupe before, so I can't really make any comparison. The only other G35 I've driven is the loaner 07' Sedan which had a very quiet engine unless I push it to around 5k or 6k but still queiter than my G. However, mine 03' gets loud easily from 3k+ and everyone been in my car always said how come your engine sound so loud...

Anyway, I'm just very curious and I suppose I can find the answer by test drive another 03' G, but I'm too lazy to deal with Sales.

Thanks

Uhh... Been a while since I don't drive my G on daily basis now. I don't think I have oil consumption issues, I don't get any knocking sound or anything. I'm just curious when I gas it, the engine gets loud easily around 3k already and on. I'm also sure that it's not exhaust sound since we have a very distinctive exhaust notes.

I bought the car used, that's why I'm curious.... if this car has any previous record of wreck that's not on carfax which made the engine so loud...

Nope. Mine is completely stock except for z-tube (which I know makes a slightly higher note at higher RPMs).

have you double checked to see if you have a plenum or spacer or throttle body spacer?

Ztube is louder after 3-4k RPM, thats what it is. Why complain about having a loud engine? The VQ sound sexy, why wouldn't you wanna hear it?

Actually, before I had the ztube it was loud already.
I'm not complaining, but i'm curious if the sound of the engine is because engine has some issues or not... whether it's normal or not..

no plenum, spacer or throattle body spacer

Did you come from a prius?

The exhaust + engine combo enough make it loud..

If you line up a G/Z against a bunch of stock cars and they all start accelerating the first car you'll be able to point out is the G/Z because of the noise the car makes.

engine louder with normal RPM

Know what you mean. My 06 G35 engine sounds louder like the RPM's are
running higher but they are normal. Thought is was the exhaust but I'm sure
it is coming from the front. Anybody know anything about this?

Try posting a video of it.
Naturally we're loud so to all of us it seems like the norm.
And with the HR and VQ37 engines, they really toned it down low it seems like to me.

He probably doesn't have the car anymore. Check the date of the OP's last post.
There seems to be a lot of this going on lately. Must be winter or something.
