slave cylinder

My 2008 G35 sedan is leaking hydraulic fluid for the clutch. I suspect the leak is at the slave cylinder (no evidence of a leak at the master cylinder). I've read that the 2007 G35 had a slave cylinder recall. Questions

1. Anyone have success in getting the dealer to replace the slave cylinder for 08+ as part of the recall?

2. Is it possible to replace the slave cylinder without dropping the transmission, bellhousing, or clutch assembly?

Thanks. I've searched, but I didn't find a clear DIY write up

I believe you have the Hr motor. If that is the case you have the concentric slave cylinder. The transmission would have to be dropped. Possible it might be covered under a recall. Might have to check with a dealer.

I'm sure you figured it out already, but you do in fact have to pull the transmission to get that part out. I wish Nissan had kept that as a part outside of the transmission, because I'm having my transmission pulled right now (2nd time in 6 months), due to what I expect is a failure with the slave cylinder. If you have to replace it, I suggest looking at some of the aftermarket options, which is what I am planning on doing this time around.

Also, if you managed to get the work done under the recall, please update the thread!

Aftermarket options I have found:
$325 - https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart...on.php?II=4593
$135 - http://www.stockwiseauto.com/product...RyAxoCSA7w_wcB

I have no experience with your issue, but I would go to the Recall Inquiry page on the Infiniti website-- http://www.infinitiusa.com/recalls-vin#/ -- and enter your VIN. If you are not listed, I doubt you'd be covered. I used this link to check every used car I looked at when I was shopping for my G.
