Re: Gas...

I put in 93 octane religously. I get around 16-18 city and
20-24 highway.

Re: Gas...

Actually I have a 14 wire set on my 5AT.
Gordgee sells a 10 wire set that does wonders for
the G35 Sedan 5AT. PM him for pricing.

Re: Gas...

I use 93, Shell or Texaco only, my average speed is between 24 mph and 25 mph and I get between 15.8-16.4 mpg. Car has 800 miles on it.

Your average speed will greatly affect your MPG. It's almost pointless to know one without the other. I found in my previous Audi that an average speed of 29 MPH gave me 24.5 MPG while an average speed of 31 MPH put me up to the 26 range. 2 MPH makes a huge difference.

I have no grounding kit, but have noticed my MPG improving the more miles I put on it. I expect the MPG to level out right around 3,000-4,000 miles after the car stops scraping so much metal apart.

Re: Gas...

You need to bring up that average! How can you have any fun
at 25 mph?

Re: Gas...

A liter? What! Gallons!

I'm getting 17mpg now.... I haven't changed the way I drive, but I did change my stock filter and open the box up mod.

That might account for my 2mpg increase?

Re: Gas...

I always use 91 octane. Last week I went on a 400 mile round trip, 90% freeway miles at 80-85 mph. Got 25.8 mpg.

Sedan 6MT, aero, ztube, K&N, self-made grounding kit.

Re: Gas...

cato, I'm trying! So far, it's just been rush hour traffic...only had her a few weeks. And when I travel more than 90 miles I fly, so my road trip days are over . I'm beginning to think that the Audi and the G calculated average speed differently though because on my Audi trip computer I drove similarly and my average was almost always around 29 mph.

Re: Gas...

I always use Petro-Can 91 octane with no problems, and generally get about 13-14 liters/100 kilometers in town, and about 9 liters/100 kilometers hwy.

Re: Gas...

I was only getting about 14-15mpg....so I stopped resetting my ECU. After that I got 18mpg with a combo of highway and city. This was while going extremely easy on the car. Soon as the roads dry up here and the April showers go away...I'm shooting for 12mpg.

Re: Gas...

Please use the highest octane you can get. I have seen customers bring there G35's into my shop and you can totally tell what kind of gas they run. I know gas it outrageous right now, but over all in the long run, you will be glad you did.

Re: Gas...

Why shoot for 12mpg? Since gas is going threw the roof, I going to drive likes there's no tomorrow and get 8-9mph if possible.

I just wish we still had leaded gas!

As for the damn Americans comment, I'd learn the English system, because after we take over all the arabs states, we're going to take canada, Ah!
