Which year would you start with???
I am currently leasing an '07 5AT coupe, the lease expires in about 10 months. I fell in love with this car and want to buy a used one when the lease is over and make it into a project car. I really want a 6MT for this project and my question is if there is a certain model year that is better for FI than another. I am probably going to go with the Vortech SC and will get the install done at Function:Tuned.
I admit I'm a newb, but I have done a lot of research. I want as much reliablitly as possible, as I want this car to be with me for a long time. I am considering getting an older model and replacing the motor with a built one, would that be better than going with a late model and not building the motor?
Please be kind...

I'd say 2004, with the 6MT you get Brembos.
How far do you plan on going FI? If you are going to biuld it then revup vs nonrevup doesn't really matter, personally. If you plan on just slapping FI on and leaving it then revup may be the better option!

although if it's going to be a project it really wouldn't make a difference because you can adjust redline blah blah blah etc.
