bore out throttle body.. mrev2.. bore that too maybe
hey guys.. wat do you guys think about boring out the throttle body.. or if not.. is there an aftermarket throttle body for our vq engines? i dont think so but if there is i would like to know.. ALSO about this mrev2.. wats the differnce with the regular rev up one.. im thinkin the intake wholes inside wen u open ur top plenum.. are probably biger than the stop rev motors rite? well... wat do you guys think.. if i get the mrev2 and actuall bore that out MORE! so MORE airflow comes in.. cuzz i know the vq motors have mega restriction on air intake flow.. like my cousin rick.. tahts why he did alot of intake system boring... but iono.. he didnt get a rev2 though.. he just bored out his rev stock bottom plenum.. but iono guys wat do you tink.. give me ur inputs!

The throttle body doesn't have anything to gain by boring it so there is not advantage to doing it. Boring it can potentially cause throttle problems though.
The MREV2 should never be "Bored" because it will lose power for sure. If simply making the holes bigger made more flow and power, then yes, of course. But that's not the trick to making power on this engine.
The trick is not to increase the steady state flow. Its all about acoustic resonances and tuning the resonances to be in sync with the engine.
Changing the bore diameter changes flow velocity. If you increase the bore too big, it will decrease the velocity too much. And because the air is actually vibrating or resonating in the bore. Decreasing the velocity of the resonance decreases the amplitude or power of the resonance. And that's not a good thing. (Resonance actually pumps flow into the engine.)
It is best to optimize the compromize between flow area and resonance intensity/frequency. The runner bore diameter and length has to be just right to create the optimum balance. And this is the reason to not bore the MREV2.
The MREV2 is already dialed in to a good balance of flow, frequency and amplitude.
