Help w/ MD plenum Spacers????

I wanted some info on the motordyne plenum spacers. Ive been looking into mods for my car and the MD 5/16 spacers seem to be the best bang for my buck. From what ive read, it increases air flow and adds about 10+hp. How does it work and what exactly will it do? I wanted to know if I should run it with a CAI or if it would be ok running it with stock intake. Please help me!

btw i have a stock 04 coupe MT

Well i dont know much about G's but ive definitely been around the block with cars before. A spacer alone will benefit the car, however to get the maximum potential out of the spacer a CAI would be extremely beneficial.

yeah the Plenum on the 03-06 G's was made too small, and there's not enough air going to the front two cylinders... the spacer will lift it up and give more airflow... 5/16ths' is best, more usable power in low range....
as for the CAI, you don't really need one unless you want some sound.... your stock intake is REALLY good if you put a K&N filter in there to replace the paper one they gave you..... also take off the "power duct" pice held on by two plastic pins......K&N filter is $50, just ask the dude at the counter at autozone which number you need, it's like 03-2217-2 or something

the way they designed the intake mani is that they sloped it going down the front to accomodate the hood design, so they lost some airflow going to the 2 cylinders. The 5/16" spacer helps correct that problem without having any clearance issues with your hood. Anything after that and I've read you'd have to cut out some of the insulating material. . .

as far as intakes go, you don't need an aftermarket one ^^like he said they're just for sound these days. Manufacturers are doing their homework and the intake from factory is really efficient.

I'd suggest getting a z-tube (OEM 350z intake tube) since it gets rid of the baffles that the G has and a JWT Pop Charger. . .makes the engine louder and the filter has a nice whistle to it. . .

if you want a more detailed explanation on how the MD Plenum spacer works, pm or phone Tony @ Motordyne (Hydrazine on the forums). . .
