Ghostbuster needed
Ghostbuster needed
I need help to find a ghost. Sometimes after I turned the ignition off maybe 15 secondes later the windows drop. I have to put back the key to get them up and they begin to drop again. The motor is off. I'm out of the car. The doors are locked and thoses F****** windows start to get down.
It happens once in a while but it really annoying. When I park my car, I have to wait to see if the f****** windows are gonna roll down.
The dealer saw the problem. It happens to them after they wash the car. Of course, they didn't solve the problem. So any help would be appreciated. Is there someone who experience something like it?
Thank you in advance

I guess you could say I have a fairly extensive knowledge of just how our windows go up and down. With the key OFF the only way you can roll the windows down is by turning the key in the door. With the key held in that position the windows will go up or down, depending on which way the key is turned. However, with the ignition on the BCM ignores this signal and will now allow you to raise or lower the windows via the drivers key cylinder. What it sounds like to me is that your cylinder is bad or you have a nicked wire coming off of the cylinder. To test this out, pop off the drivers door window control pod thingy. It should pop straight up, and might require a little force. On the back you will find the power window control wiring. There should be a wire that will read 5vdc at all times, except when the cylinder is turned to unlock. When the cylinder is turned to unlock it will read ground, and the windows will go down. If you temporarily disconnect this wire I would imagine your problem will disapear. Then you have isolated it to either the cylinder or the wiring in between the cylinder and the power window module.

The windows will also drop if the door unlock button is pushed and held. But you say the doors stayed locked?
It has to be the wiring to the lock cylinder, or a faulty remote.

Thank you guys! I realize that I forget to tell you an important information. I have a remote starter installed by the dealer on my car.
I will print your answers and give them to the dealer. Thank you!

And the plot thickens.....
What brand of remote start was installed? And who installed it? You said the dealership, did you mean an Infiniti dealership? Are you using your factory remote or the one that came with the remote starter?

Yes KPierson, it was installed by the Infinity dealer that sells me my car. The brand is Sherlock. The remote starter works really nice at long range. So I don't use the factory remote. I always use the Sherlock.
Re: Ghostbuster needed
Hmmm..... I would start looking there. How often does it do this? I take it that that remote start has keyless built in. Did they hook up so you can lower the windows from the aftermarket alarm?

Re: Ghostbuster needed
It does not happen very often. It happened maybe six times yet and no, I cannot roll down the window with the remote control. I can start the car, stop the car, lock the door, unlock the door, unlock the trunk. I also have a panic button to start the alarm of the car in case some babes want to rape me... I didn't have to use it yet.
