New..
OK, first of all i'm new to the site...but, not to forums. I have searched high and low in this forum for 5 hours straight now. I just bought a 2004 G35 coupe 5A/T 2 months ago for 15k fully loaded which was a pretty good deal considering I had 2k in negative equity to finance. But, long story short. I am looking into buying a pre-assembled fully built motor. I live in North Georgia close to Z1 motorsports. I am not sure if any of you are familiar with them but, they have a pretty good reputation around here in the aspects of Nissan tuning..What exactly should I be expecting out of a fully built motor Hp wise. The motor I would be looking to purchase includes:
Z1 Built VQ35 Longblock includes:
* - carillo rods
* - wiseco pistons
* - new Nissan rod & main bearings
* - rings
* - ARP head & main studs
* - cometic headgaskets
* - completely reworked heads
Now, I would want to also install cams. But, do you guys have any suggestions for me I am 20 and in college. So, I am just trying to get the best bang for the buck here. I will be getting it tt'ed later on down the road but, for now I believe a N/A built motor will be good enough for me. Also this seems like a pretty friendly forum lots of info. I did look at alot of N/A built motor threads but, none of them really stated at what H.p. numbers they were putting to the wheels.

You didn't find much because the elite doing NA motors barely break 300whp... nothing to make you say "whoa!" as far as HP goes... but it's a big deal with these cars to make 300whp in NA form. I won't try to talk you out of what you want to do with your own car, but best bang for the buck isn't a biult motor for NA (ie; you'd need high compression, not low), but to go FI and then later down the road get the engine biult. As far as Z1 is concerned, I can't say - just know that anyone can install something... but it takes someone with a lot of knowledge to tune it... so just look them up, go with your gut on the tuning...
I was guessing a little shy of 300...but, hopefully someone has gotten a dyno run, or knows someone that has..But, I would be perfectly fine with 300rwhp. I plan to take it stock to Road Atlanta and see what it can do someday soon. I haven't had a car this nice before so, it's all new to me. I was always into racing MX (where all my money went). So, I know the ropes well with tuning and engines. Just not with cars..But, I understand your point I just want a reliable motor pushing around 350-400rwhp (f/i). Something I can drive daily that will fulfill my moneys worth. But, if any of you are looking for some good pre-assembled motors z1motorsports has some good deals on built motors. I have been there and they seem to know what there doing. They specialize in the 300z's and the g35/350z.
