Need help finding a replacement battery for my coupe

My car has been sitting in the garage for about 2 months now with a dead battery, or so I'm hoping thats the case.

I am curious for those who got replacement batteries for your car. What kind did you get and how much? My original plan was to go to Sears and purchase a die hard battery for $79 I believe. Not sure if it's a lifetime warranty.

But anything to revive my dead car. I'm hoping the car will start if I get a new battery... Damn optima. I will never waste $200 on that again.

Have you tried recharging the battery? If you've gone 2 months with it dead I'm assuming your car spends a lot of time sitting. If that's the case you should look into a battery tender for the next one.

I replaced my oem with a Die Hard and it did just that, died hard after a few run downs from the stereo.

yes thats what I did, i ordered a battery tender, let it charge overnight, next day the light stayed green meaning its fully charged, so I tried starting my car, and got them clicking noises again. I think my battery is too weak to hold a proper voltage/charge high enough for me to start the car. I can jump start it.

Sigh. Is there a specific Die Hard model I get?

I've never liked Die Hard batteries... I think my current battery is an AC Delco...

BTW, for reference:

Delphi makes ACDelco and some EverStart (Wal-Mart) models. Exide makes Champion, Exide, Napa, and some EverStart batteries. Johnson Controls makes Diehard (Sears), Duralast (AutoZone), Interstate, Kirkland (Costco), Motorcraft (Ford), and some EverStarts.

I just put in a duralast my last change. Optima is nice when you have the demanding equipment.

I could be wrong but battery tender doesn't = battery charger.

I don't think the tender was meant to bring a battery back from a dead charge.

Diny....!

I've never had issues with Die Hards but Sears also carries Optima so you'll
have a choice, cost will be the deciding factor.

is it possible if i swap out my battery with my friend who also drives a g35? i just want to be able to diagnose it myself. I mean if i swap batteries with him, and my car starts, then i definetly will know its the battery that needs to be replaced. His car is a daily driven car.

People told me it can't be my alternator. Because all the alternator does is charges the battery/electrical system while driving. You can even start the car w/o an alternator being present. And even if it was my alternator that was bad. I wouldn't be able to drive my car after I jumpstarted for an hour. I think my battery is on the verge of being 100% dead. It can't even hold a charge at all. I'm also noticing that everytime i go to jumpstart my car, it gets harder and harder to start up.

I managed to get it jumpstarted today, and tried to perform a few tests while i got the engine running. During idle... when i tried to turn my AC on. I noticed my cars guage panel lights started to dim, like my engine was about to turn off. Also while my car was idling and AC was blasting. I tried rolling both windows up and notice that my car look like it was about to die as well, so i let go immediately of the window button. I then procedded to turn on my domelights inside the car and notice they are flickering a bit and not constantly on.

So I really hope its my battery.

What do you guys think?

If you're having problems while the car is running then it could be your alternator.

y dont you take the battery out have your friend come over find the nearest advanced auto or autozone and have them check it for free...that would be the way i would go...also if you pop open the top of the battery there are cells these cells are filled with de-ionized water....if they are not full the battery cannot charge all the way and will eventually die

ok i think i finally pinpointed the problem and IT IS actually the battery. I had swapped out battery's with my friends yesterday and started the car up with no problems whatsoever... even cranked on my AC and radio, turned on my lights... no flicking. My stereo actually sounds a lot stronger now.

So I will be buying a new battery today. Should I get an OEM battery from the Infiniti dealer? From the looks of it. I am kinda worred about getting any old battery. I just hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for it. As long as its between $50-$100 price range.

Good to hear. The Die Hard Gold's are just over $100 and they carry a pretty good warranty.

If you have money to burn...I say Optima FTW. If not Duralast are good, not really a fan of die hard
