CEL Codes without OBDII Tool?
Howdy everyone. So just my luck. My wife is driving my car today while hers in the shop and for the first time ever, (113.5k miles) I got a CEL! She was freaked out, but said the car seemed to be driving okay. Fortunately, she's only a 10 minute drive from work, and I can walk to my work. I did the ole search, but didn't find the answer to this question and think it would be helpful to others too. I know where the list of trouble codes are on my350z. I know how to read them with an OBDII scan tool. However, I also know that on most cars when you enter the diagnostic mode, the CEL flashes in a manner that indicates the trouble code if a tool is inaccessible. I know how to enter diagnostic mode (the same method is used for the "ECU Reset" minus the holding the pedal for 10 seconds at the end to reset it.) So, my questions is: does anyone know how to interpret the flashing CELs as indicators of trouble codes? I was holding out on getting an OBDII reader until I could get the autoenginuity one, and yes, I know I can have the autozone guys read it for me. But, not everyone lives close to an autozone. Hopefully this'll help out the folks that live in the sticks and have a CEL in there garage or something. Anyway, any input is appreciated! Thanks!

Answer to my own question from the Nissan Titan guys:

Use the "ECU Reset" procedure, but prior to holding in the pedal for 10 seconds at the last step, note the flashes, as follows:
Long flashes (0.6 seconds) indicate the first digit of the code; count the blinks one through nine and write down the first digit. (Ten blinks indicates zero.)
The next three digits follow in turn in the same fashion except with faster blinks (0.3 second) and a 1.0-second pause between digits.
The ECM code repeats itself until you turn the ignition key to the OFF position, at which point the ECM resets itself to standard get-in-and-drive-mode.
Additionally, if you get four blinks of ten (0000), the ECM is indicating no malfunction.
Also, the error codes are on my350z.com here.
