Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
It looks nice, I saw a thread over at FA with this mod and supposedly the guy messed up the first shot at it and had to get a new cluster at $800.....Ouch. Sweet mod though.
Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
That's sweet. I wish our cars just came like that. I'm not a fan of ripping my dash apart, so this isn't the mod for me, however it looks sweet. Good thing I'm not a hater of the orange.

Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
the only part that i put blue film over in my prelude was the clock. I just took it apart. There were 3 screws and i took out the clear plastic and replaced it with the blue film.
I'll post what size leds you will need and the website later today.

Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
hey GG35, where u from??
me and SFLG35 are wanting to do this...and maybe taking it a few steps further...
first off, we have a reliable source, wont name names, that took apart the dash for a V1 install and he said they were white bulbs which means, if correct, the current gauges have orange film. Does that mean u need to add blue film?
secondly, each button for A/C or sterio has a separate orange bulb connected to a circuit board. Can we simply film every one of these to make each button blue?
lastly, if we accomplished the first too feats, I would have to be able to change the Compass & Temp readings, which LOOK to be digital....do u know if this is true??
Again, if ur near florida...we are planning a group install as soon as more information pops up and we know what we need. Can u post the link for the film and bulbs? Thanks

Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
1. No, i do not think there is any orange film over the gauges. There could be and you might have to replace it with blue film and change the clear bulbs to leds. I think its just a plug in bulb for the gauges.
2.For the ac, you would have to unsolder the orange bulbs off and solder on new blue led bulbs. Thats the only complicated part. Soldering is fairly easy though. You just have to make sure they all align correctly, so there won't be any hot spots.
3.I still have to look into the compass and temperature part. I'm thinking that you might be able to put some blue film over that and the color might come out blue. I'm not sure on this.
I will let yall know the site for the led bulbs and blue film later. Its been a while and i have to ask a friend.
Sorry, i live in Texas...

Re: Blue Gauge Cluster Mod
Now that i know hte gauge cluster and ac uses leds. I know you can change it to blue, but its something that you have to be really careful doing. Especially prying it apart. You don't want to break anything, since it is plastic.
If someone can take that middle temp/compass area apart and check it out, I would be able to tell if it can be changed also. I think they also sell blue light digital temp and compass gauges that you could possibly replace the stock ones with.
