Yeah, it seems like covering the AC line with anything is the way to go.
Im a student with a G35 as well, and the parents would of been pissed if they found out an aftermarket part ruined the AC. Good thing i read this before i put the intake in.

I used some wiring loom and covered the AC line. My line was a little scratched up, but my AC still works. Thanks for the heads up.

hey illg35 if you dont have an uncle thats a mechanic you are going to have to pay some money man. my uncle even said that doing labor like this would cost about 500-700 so the dealers werent ripping me off... my uncle just cut out where the whole was and got another cyclinder pipe and just welded it together..it is hard to explain sorry .. and he just reconnected any from the looks of it it aint rubbbing anymore .. he is an expert with a.c so he did this draining stuff ..sorry that my explanation is wack it would be better if i told you in person .. if you live in so cal my uncle would probably hook you up with a good deal.

This is my Stillen CAB +Z tube. The Stillen CAB seems to hold the Z tube and MAS tube pretty solid. I have about a 1/2" clearance between the AC line and the Z tube.
I pulled and yanked repetively the flexible part of the Z tube as hard I realistically could towards the AC line to attempt to mimic a bumpy ride. The Z tube would not budge but a couple mm, not even coming close (at all) to the AC line. The design of the Stillen CAB ABS plastic heatshield holds the MAS and Z tube in rigid place.
I should be safe but I'll check it every week for any wear or marks on the AC line.

That's alright... It happens all the time. I just NEVER expected
Stillen aka "Stealing" to drop their price on anything. We
bought the Sony Playstation2 when it sold everywhere for
$200. That price was rock solid for several years. Now is is
dropping below $180. Sigh, if only the G35 price would drop,
I could get the wife a coupe!

Well Djames good lookin out anyway, i guess im fcuked!! If Infiniti said the part was 58$, labor and recharging the AC can be 500$ ? How is that possible? I might just order the AC line and take it to my father's friend to install, whateva I have to get it done soon before it gets worse. iLLG

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP
I was just present at my 4th ztube popcharger install (Neffster, Dabomb, me and MarcG). Here is the problem:
The heat shield bracket is too long. This forces the heat shield to the right so you can't get the popcharger over to the left enough to clear the AC line. I didn't have this problem because I didn't install the heat shield.
Solution is to drill a new hole in the bracket in order to slide the heat shield over. The popcarger should stick straight out in line with the ztube. Not cocked to the right.
Will have pics later.
2004 G35C 6MT Black. What Honey? I don't know where they came from. I came home and it was like that...
