Need Help Disabling my RAS
I have a 07' turbo coupe. I'm having problems with my RAS it keep's coming on and staying on in VDC on or off mode. Even if drive the car normal I just want to disable once and for all. Thanks guys
Not to resurrect an ancient thread, but did anybody ever figure out how to disable the RAS? I was checking out the wiring diagram in the service manual, and I noticed that there's also a relay specifically for the RAS actuator motor. Has anybody tracked the relay down and pulled it to see what happens??
So I am just getting getting up to speed with what it takes to remove the RAS. I slid my car over a curb and ruined all the suspension on the drivers side and the rear. SO as they were figuring out what needed replacement i thought it might be an opportunity to see if i could remove the RAS. It basically takes too much to be worth while unless you've totaled the suspension like i did and really really don't want to have it anymore. The biggest dingle item you would need to purchase would be the rear sub-frame. you need one from a non-RAS G. other then that there are a lot of brackets and the obvious control arms.
As far as disabling the actuator i would say it's a BAD idea. If you did get it to deactivate you would need to make sure it is centered and that it is strong enough to stay centered. When the car is on and the RAS is active it tracks the neutral point and adjusts accordingly. Also it is powered to maintain that neutral point. An unpowered actuator could be very dangerous by not being able to control the rear tires in a straight line.
Just my thoughts.
