Re: 245 Hp at the Wheels!

B/C he either/both did not reset the ECU after install (although I do not think it will change after you do - but it might) or/and is running a stock ECU on the plenum. Remember the plenum is downstream of the MAF, and SOMEHOW the greater amount of air that is being used by the front two cylinders is not being metered accordingly by the MAF/ECU. Thus, not enough fuel is being added to the mixture > LEAN condition. Whatever you may think the reason is, it is fact that the mixture gets LEANER after the plenum install, I and some others have confirmed it with wideband o2 measurements.

Mine went from 12.8-13 to 13.7-14.0 after the plenum install, however granted that I did not allow for the learning of the new airflow to occur by the ECU - for all I know the mixtured might have normalized a bit a while later - jsut don;t think they would be ideal.

smccallis

the easy ECU reset does NOT do what we previosly thought , you need to clamp the two battery terminals together for at least 5 secs. That really DID do somethign for my car. Also, looking at your raw numbers - I was NOT misled earlier. 14.0-14.3 is VERY high for 5000 rpm. You should be runnign 13.4 MAX at that level. Trust me!

Also, as I saif earlier it is teh VERY erratic nature of the A/F plot taht worries me also, not just the numbers.

Wow you pay 150 /dyno - that is robbery. I pay $65-80 out here.

I think it important to point out to those that don't pay attention to detail.. clamp together the two battery terminals.. that would be the two cables on the car, while they are disconnected from the battery.. do not connect the two posts on the battery together. Yes of course, ryoken, you are right. I should have made it clearer in my last post , although I did say disconnect the battery first earlier in the thread!
