Nice. Do you recall the temp, pressure, altitude, and dew point?

Just for curiosity's sake, why the K&N Filter instead of a JWT PopCharger or Stillen Airbox?

Re: 245 Hp at the Wheels!

Ahh. So anyone planning on getting the Crawford Plenum might do well to not bother with the airbox or popcharger. Cool.

Re: 245 Hp at the Wheels!

I'll be putting them Crawford plenum on this weekend (if the squatters would send back their plenums!!!) with PopCharger/ Z tube combo, everything else stock....I certainly don't think the pop charger would have a negative effect but we'll see. At least I HOPE it doesn't. I've been waiting for this thing for awhile. 2 weeks after the plenum comes the Crawford headers and cats and then a sound check.

Considering your temperature when you did the base, you can be even prouder of your gains. Assuming pressure and humidity were constant, 20 degrees is a big deal.

At 50 degrees you were at 104.5% of relative HP to rated, assuming standard pressure and 68% humidity. At 70 degrees you were at 101.1% relative HP to rated assuming standard pressure and 68% humidity.

Mos def. I'll also do G Tech Comp runs and compare, controlling for conditions. You're right about Doug. I like doing business with him.

Question: What is a "coupe midpipe"?

[i]HyperGround Kit
350Z intake duct
K&N drop-in
Aluminum pedals
50%-35% smoke tint

smcallis

Doug IS a good guy, but did you tell him what your A/F curve looks like. You are definitely going to benefit from a TS ECU update... you are running VERY lean. You are running near and even above stoichiometric 14.7 A/F point a for a good portion of your band in what should be open-loop operation. I am pretty sure that Doug would suggest otherwise if he had seem your second dyno chart (with the A/F plot). The A/F curve, aside from being lean is EXTREMELY erratic. The real A/F should start at around 13.8-14 on the very low end, go through approximately 13.5 in the midrange and reach 12.8-12.9 at readline, and it has to be a SMOOTH decrease.

Try this, disconnect both terminals of your battery, short the + and - wires together, hold for at least 5 seconds (more like 10 to be 100% effective), and reconnect the terminals. That clears all your memory and learning parameters (ECU). Then drive around hard for a few days and go back to the dyno. When you run as lean as you are, your car is prone to detonation, the ECU detects knock and retards timing (consequently reducing POWER) to keep from detonating. Pretty soon, after a pattern of detonations, the adaptive timing system will retard timing 'for good' (so to speak, until your reset the ECU). Your top end should be stronger that it is now.

Take the above as you wish, but is is FACT that your A/F is doing weird things, and it is FACT that you are, at least for certain portions of your rpm band, running lean.

Gurgen

P.S. Sorry for the typos, i am terribly in a hurry.

Re: 245 Hp at the Wheels!

Good point gurgen. Why could he be running so lean in the first place?

smcallis, what's up with the erratic and very lean A/F mixture? I've never dynoed, is that normal?
