2007 G35 drivers please read!

I need to know what if any changes you've done to your intake. I want to add a Z-tube or aftermarket CAI but the only one that these jokers are saying is for my car is a dual air intake. It's well over $400 and I am not sure my engine cover will go back on(which is very important to me). So if you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it, let me know what you have and what you've done, part numbers would be great too.

well you have an 07 coupe, correct?

I think you can go with any of the intakes that were for the 03-06...

I mean, everything under the hood looks the same, and I think your issue is coming from being confused with the G37 or the 07Sedan which have the dual intakes.

if you are going to go with the single intake, I would recommend the injen kit. It looks great polished, adds horsepower and even makesa great sound when you give it the beans. It is also very easy to fit and you can use your standard engine cover. If you want to use it as well as a plennum spacer you can still use your engine cover but might need to cut a small patch out of the under hood insulation to stop it rubbing.

Any car with the vq35de motor including yours has a single throttle body meaning there's only 1 intake. Any year g35 intake will work with your car. When I first got my car, I've been told the same thing .. that my car has dual intake. I just found that retarded.

OK... the reason folks are telling you that you have dual intakes is because they DO NOT KNOW G35s well enough! the 2007 G35 SEDAN has dual intakes since it has the VQ35HR motor. The 2007 G35 COUPE however still retains the VQ35DE motor which only has a single intake. Any aftermarkt intake should still fit under the engine cover but the best bang for you buck is the Z tube. Expect no gains from the Z tube or any other aftermarket intake for that fact, but it does give you a better(opinon of most) growl when you give it the "beans" like someone above mentioned. the stock intake box has been proven to be more efficient than most after market filters/cone set-ups, so unless you want a different sound/look then i would opt for the JWT pop charger(that's what i have in my 03 coupe.

Maybe their confusing the dual resonators for dual intakes? The resonators help quite down the growl, the Z intakes have no resonators, that might be why they growl more (I'm referencing the tech article mentioned).
