Used wrong oil in my car, ahhh!

ok this is the first time i've used the wrong oil when i changed it.

I SWORE i picked up 5w-30 but as i was pouring it in today and about half way through, i saw it said 10w-30. too late to do anything about it now since it's half way.

what will this do to my engine? (it has about 71k miles).

can i revert back to 5w-30 on the next oil change?

I used Pennzoil Full Syn, how many miles can i go on it?

lol no big deal, just a slight difference in the weight that's all. Nothing will happen to your engine.

will the engine be hotter? since it's thicker viscosity?

can i go back to 5w on the next change?

because of the high mileage on our 03 coupe we switched to 10w-30 for regular use.

You won't notice ANY difference unless it's 30 below where you are. And even then, probably not. Don't worry, you're fine.

what state are you in?

I wouldn't want to use 10-30w in a cold/snowy climate in the winter..
but you should be fine.

High grade synthetic with a good quality oil filter - 5,000 miles.

i think that is little. my 03 corolla ran on regular oil and they said 5k, my 08 TLS used regular oil allowed about 5-6k. this is full syn, i think it should be much more, just not sure how much exactly.

IMO I doubt there would be any problems pushing 8k-10k miles on a high grade synth oil change with quality filter. I just recommend 5k (or 6k with quality oil filter) to people since that tends to be the interval I've used and i don't like recommending things to people if i haven't tried them first.

I personally use Mobil1 5w30 and Amsoil or K&N oil filter and change the oil every 10,000km / ~6,500 miles.
