im wondering if the injen exhaust is a legal DP rating?

Always wondered myself. Injen SES 'track edition' owner here.
Emailed Injen long time ago for that info...never got a response.

 

if u live in cali, everything u do to or modify ur car from its orginal condition its illegal unless the manufacture "Injen" has C.A.R.B. riveted tags on the exhaust then its legal.

 

Thought anything behind the cats were legal and nothing to do with emissions. And thought only legal concern was db sound level.

 

ya i think its just DB level thats what im wondering cause you are aloud to change your exhaust anytime u want in canada as long as the DB rating is low enough....

 

I have the track edition as well. The only thing that poppes into my head is the fact that there isn't really any muffler just 2 resinators per side. If you get test pipes as well, you don't have a chance of passing emissions.

All I know is some of my homies have been popped for their HKS in Cali. They go to State Reff, they test for db's and make sure you have cats, etc. HKS passes db test. They get a cute little sticker certif HKS is all good, so next time you won't get ticket if pulled over again for that. Don't know what else to say how the legal system works with cat-back exhausts in Cali anyways...lol.
