Help me out guys .... VDC, service light, and slip on

Very confused here guys, I have all three lights on (Service Engine, VDC, and Slip) all on and the car is bone stock. Its an 03.5 coupe and I just had the oil changed and the brakes done. Why wont these lights go off..... also its hard to start the car with the lights on. It hesitates and then starts up, but has no issues while the car is running. Very confused someone chime in, Thanks.

Go check your brake fluid. I can almost guarantee you that it is low. It has to be right at the max level, not above or below it. If it is below it, just top it off.

um if it was just brake fluid it wouldnt it have the brake light on none of the others?. either way you need to get the light checked out.. vdc and slip light will come on together if theres a code for either of the systems ex. abs sensor. the engine light might not even b related with the other 2 but might be if its a sensor having to do with engine and transmission like an engine speed sensor aka crank sensor.
If they arnt related maybe the guys who did your brakes left your lights on killed the battery jumped started it and never reset the vdc. sometimes after a disconnect you have to drive straight foward for about 50 ft then straight in reverse put it in park adn shut off then restart and they turn off. either way i would get it checked out for free where ever you did the brakes.

hey all, the motor in my G35 blew, so I finally got a new one, after getting it installed, the VDC and slip light also stay on, in taking it back to the installer, he said that it is b/c the motor came out of an automatic whereas my car is a 6MT. To your knowledge is there a problem installing an Automatic motor into a 6MT tranny, if pilot bearings and etc have been installed? Any help would be appreciated, as I am starting to question my installers work...

Not true by any means. Please don't post wrong information. Thanks.

The VDC/Slip/CEL will come on if your brake fluid is low. How do I know? It happened to me. It happened to the person sitting two feet away from me right now. It happened to a friend of mine in Arizona. It has also happened about 5 times here on Driver in the last week.

Check your brake fluid before you do anything else, as chances are thats what it is. If it isn't, go get the CEL checked.

Please go start your own thread, no need to go OT in this one. Your issue is COMPLETELY different.

+1

This question comes up all the time. That's the car's way of telling you the level is low and you should check your fluid and pads.

not meant as a stab towards you in any way BTW. I have yet to ever see a customer wit low brake fluid come in with the vdc and slip lights on, just the brake light. granted im a Nissan guy not Infiniti if theres a difference in the warnings for low brakefluid.. Thanks for the new info

Yeah, I know you didn't mean that. Sorry if I came off as snarky.

I just know that is what happens with a G, not sure about a Z or anything else. The brake light also comes on sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't. The lights will just go on right after I start driving.

Ok got the car scanned and pulled a P0340 code which is the camshaft position sensor on bank 1. Anyways I cleared the codes and still hesitated at start up with no cel's or any other warning lights on..... drove home and started it again and got the same lights (service engine, vdc, and slip). I checked the brake fluid levels and they are dead on so this shouldnt be affecting the sensors. Has anyone else ever had issues with the camshaft position sensor on their G.... if so how did you go about getting the issue solved. Thanks again guys

in the 2nd part of my reply earlier i mentioned the possibility of the crank/camsensors. if they are the same sensors that came wit the motor u put in maybe they were damaged. can try swapin them out from ur old motor if its available still. check the wire harness for damage / loose connection they have that devil clip style so they are hard to click back on sumtimes maybe it unclicked itself out. gl

btw it should bank 1 is passenger side back of the valve cover by the fire wall should b able to see the harness wit the enigne cover off. gl man
