4th gear is the 1:1 gear on a 5AT though....i can see 3rd offers more and higher pull but from what iv heard u get max results from 1:1 gear.

Re: Central FL dyno day results are in!

here from popular demand...
Wes vs Daniel with the stock thrown in for extra comparison...

notice how its dead even till about 4300RPM where Wes starts showing a steady 3hp and 3torque gain until about 5750RPM where Daniel begins showing a 3hp and 3torque gain through until redline.

You should keep in mind that not all cars are built exactly the same from the factory. Not all coupes will really have 280 HP. So it's hard to just the gains on these mods using 2 different cars. Maybe car #1 would have dynoed 5 HP more than car #2 in stock form, and now throw some mods into the picture and it's more confusing.

This is true to an extent. they definatly arent the same but i dont think you'll find 5hp difference in 2 stock cars...1-3 maybe. Also, while the peak may be different this graph shows that the curve will be almost identical and a weird jump somewhere can cause the peak difference.
I still think the comparisons that show an intake giving 5hp through the WHOLE curve is very accurate and valuable.

Re: Central FL dyno day results are in!

Excellent write up. It was very insightful and thorough. Although I did notice one error...the 95 Z32 his numbers are way off in the chart. It's impossible to get those numbers listed, might want to double check that. Shoutouts to Todd for the write-up and all the fellas for making it a good event.

Re: Central FL dyno day results are in!

Thanks for the great write up and all the hard work put out by all the coordinators of this event. It was really worthwhile and well done!

Tell TMS thanks and I am all ready sending referrals thier way. Hopefully, they will realize a little extra business from hosting our event.

I was thinking about the tire air pressure issue on my run back to Tampa, also, did we all have 91+ octane fuel? Both of these could affect readings. Just so you know, my stock G35AT had tire pressures adjusted and was on a full tank of 93 octane fuel.

Neff,
Awesome work. Thanks a ton.

Are there any A/F graphs? I was really hoping to see what the mods did to A/F ratios. Anyone dangerously lean?

Re: Central FL dyno day results are in!

Some of you guys might benefit from a little algebra refresher course. An 18% drivetrain loss means that you take the crank HP and multiply by 0.82 to get the wheel HP. If you have the wheel HP, an 18% drivetrain loss means you DIVIDE by 0.82 (which means the same as multiplying by 1.22) to get the crank HP.

Whip out a calculator and try it.
