Oil Change
Re: Oil Change
It all depends on how you drive the car. If you drive a lot on surface streets, it's probably a better idea to change at 3750. If you drive mostly on the highway, you can wait til 7K.

Re: Oil Change
The manual has a list of criteria in that section that you can look at and compare your driving habits to, to decide which route to go.

Re: Oil Change
According to the manufacturer-
Oil changes are every 3750 for the sedan and 7500 for the coupe according to the documentation. The technical jargon that came with this was that the expected "optimum performance" motor life (Motor operation with no performance loss, compression, HP, etc) of the sedan was 150K and the coupe 100K based on following the recommended "regular maintenance" cycle.
I have had my done on the recommended sedan cycle of every 3750 miles based on the recommendation of the service manager. The only real shock came at the 7500 mile mark when the routine service (tire roation..blah..blah) ran $168.00.
$39 for an oil change was OK, but $168 for the 7500 service even if they do inspect the brakes ,rotate the tires, and give tire life measurements.....is a little much...Labor rates...ugh....
Thankfully they send me the coupons for 10% OFF in the mail every 3 months or so... With the coupon 15K service is $211.00
Remember- If you always take your car to the dealer to get the work done, if anything is ever jacked up by them (oil plug not tight or some of the other horror stories I've heard) they are responsible without any question since they have all the records on the car....this has saved me a few headaches and $$$ in the past...

Re: Oil Change
Hey dude, Yeh that 168 bucks sounds a bit 'rich' for checking this and that and rotating the tires. Wow, I'd say maybe 1 to 1.5 hrs tops for labour. Our labour rates here in Ontario are generally about 70/hr. Maybe they're higher where you are.
When they serviced the brakes they should have lubricated the sliders, pins, and contact points. That could account for another half hr..My schedule says only front brakes but maybe they did all 4. It's a good idea to do them especially in my lousy climate.
Check it out with the service guys, maybe there's more done than we realise. Good luck..
