Well some people, like myself. Just don't have the tools, place, knowledge, and experience to do the work.

If you don't have such tools, go to an independent garage and get it changed. Instead you go to the dealers, they're gonna rip your left nut off.

The cost of buying the tools to do the job is cheaper than paying someone to do it even once. You really don't need any experience to do that sort of thing.. it's that easy. It's also something you can do in a parking lot.

There's never a better time to learn a new skill than now!

^^ so true, get a car jack for $80 (decent), simple tools $30 (max) + $30 belts + 1/2 hr of ur labor = $140 with experience. Save you $100 for beers and food.

Sometimes you don't need dealer do those little jobs for you.

Don't get fooled about those very small cracks you see on the belts. If you car has relatively low miles on it, the cracks are normal and all our cars have them. If you have serious miles on your car it might be a different story. My car had 24,000 miles and already had those little cracks. Means nothing.

cost me 65 to get my belts changed at my local shop, so where is the savings? it took them 15 minutes, quicker than changing my oil lol, i woulda used more money i water taking a shower afterwards and getting greased up. and i love working on cars, but laziness got the best of me that day haha
