grounding gear bolt / washer size.

Hi, wondering if anyone knows what diameter the replacement bolts are? The instructions say M6x16mm but when i went to home depot, they had tons of 16mm length bolts. M6 is the # of sides of the bolt head right? and 16mm is the length, just dont know how thick the bolt is.

Also for the washer, is there a specific size I should be asking for?

I'm a noobie and this is the 2nd time working on the car. For the torque wrench, what does it mean by applying 7 pounds? how do i know it's 7 pounds? I read that in the long thread. Thanks!!

Re: grounding gear bolt / washer size.

M6 is a metric bolt size, use grade 8.8 or higher at this size. Any size washer that fits the bolt, but I like to use brass or stainless steel.

If you use a torque wrench, just set the torque spec on the wrench. If using a standard socket set, just make sure it's snug, and DON'T over-tighten!
