Serious question about my engine PLEASE HELP

So let me give the forum some background real quick.I use to start up my car and it ran fine of course but recently i would start up my car and it would idle but then it would in sense loose power. It went from idle which is like .5-.7 down to about .1 , .2 almost 0 then it would rev it self back up to idle. So it sounded lke the car would almost flatline then become alive again...a sound i did not like. Then i was just driving the car regular and this jag wanted to race so im flooring it and while im acclerating the throttle or accleration stops and i start to loose power...so im about a half a mile from my house so i turn on a downhill street(while i doing all this my car is still loosing power) then i come to a stop sign and my car shuts off completely.Enough power for me to turn and get next to a curb.I try to start thecar up and it starts but then dies automatically.I did this about 3 times So i leave it and call the tow truck guy and he comes takes y car and then they start it up and drive it!!! and they say well theres no check engine light and th car is runing fine so they cant do anything....so what do i do???what ould be wrong with it??

what kind of spacer do you have? did this happen b4 the spacer? Check for leaks and make sure all your hoses are plugged in. Also make sure you didn't get the rubber around the oil cap stuck in between the plennum when it was installed.
