UnderCover Question

I'm planning on changing my oil again. Just wondering if anyone has taken off the undercover shield that needs to be removed and left it off. It really is a pain to do this everytime i need to change oil. I think the only downside is that the bottom of the car wouldn't be as aero dynamic. are their other dangers? personally this is the first car i've seen with this type of undercover.

Re: UnderCover Question

Welcome to modern cars. Yes, most of the effect is for aerodynamic efficiency, but this would also translate into lower wind noise. Conceivably, there could also be some effect on high speed handling due to underbody pressures resulting in certain tire forces. I don't know if Infiniti engineers went this far! It also provides some level of protection against road debris being kicked up into the engine compartment.

Re: UnderCover Question

It could also conceivable affect your highway fuel efficiency. Probably not much, though.
