Re: DC Sports Headers MUST SEE

10 hours' no joke! Even shops that install these for living will stay busy for 5-6 hours.

A lot of stuff needs to be disconnected in order to gain access to all the nuts and bolts of the headers. This includes drainning the engine coolant to undo all the major plumbings.

Happy DIY on these

Damn this shop here said it would take 3 hours. They didnt say anything about draining the engine coolant? Does that mean I have to get new coolant to put in?

Blast from the past.

The average shop does it in like 6 hours still.
I've seen smart shops do it in 3.

And this was without draining engine coolant.
Just some really skinny arms and the right tools.

The shop Im going to has done I think 5 installs on G35. They said they just use tools from the bottom and it takes 3-4 hours. They said nothing about draining the coolant.

i got my TopSpeed Pro1 headers (direct copy of the DC sports ones and i got mine for $230 shipped in a GB) installed by Performance Motorsports in Long Island. these guys build drag 350z's for a living (6.90 at 208mph), and know the motor and chassis inside out.

it still took them almost 7 hours to do this install.

EDIT: damn this thread is old
