You could have damaged a sensor, or there could be a seal that didn't seal well, or it could be a complete coincidence and there is something else wrong unrelated. That's about all I can think of. Was a torque wrench used? Was a gasket forgotten? Did you check the surfaces for warpage?
Reset the ECU with the gas pedal method and see if the code pops back up. Use a second hand and it works every time.
I'm not positive but I would think that once you cleared the code, if it did not pop up again, then it would rule out a leaky seal or bad O2 sensor and indicate some kind of one time anamoly related to the install.
