Question Going FI, which Oil to use?

I just purchased ROYAL PURPLE, and was wondering if most of the members here utilize it or which oil do you all think is BEST?

Any Pro's, Con's you guys would like to discuss would help me a great deal in making my decision. Thanks in advance!!

Thanks Guys!

You need to read the oil anlaysis thread on my350z and you will find our engines really dont like RP.I have been using Mobil1 0w40 ever since i had the Stillen s/c.

Now that i have had the Greddy twins for almost 2 years i still use Mobil1 0w40.

My vote is for Amsoil 5w30. I was previously using Mobil1 0w40, but recently switched to Amsoil b/c I was getting a lot of blowby with the Mobil1, and my local shop carries Amsoil.

+1 on reading the 350z uoa thread; you'll see u'll want to stay away from RP with the VQ

Wow - Great info so far!! Thanks as always guys.

I'll throw the RP in my other daily commuter and keep it clear of my VQ. Wow, thanks for giving me the heads up fellas!!

So what's the deal (ie, so "special") about Mobil1 0w40?

Just curious as to why this particular brand and weight is so popular.

Thanks Guys!

The trick with any oil and added power is to reduce the bearing temperatures under the new higher load to the previous stock state.

The no lead narrower bearings are EXTREMELY sensitive to any oil overheat.

The oil cooler can be more important than the oil.

Royal Purple and Amosil are the only "true" synthetic oils. I've been using Royal Purple for years in all of my vehicles without any problems.
