Highway breakdown :(
I finally got my G35 (Silver w/ graphite, Xenon, Premium, Sport, Winter and Aero). Was driving home and boom, the car starts to coast and dies (only had 21 miles on it). Looks like the fuel line busted (we think). Called the dealer, they had someone tow it back, took back my check and my trade in. Waiting to see what mechanics say tomorrow on whether or not I will take back the car. Anyone else have fuel line problems? This is really disappointing as it is very difficult to get this car with all of those options in the Chicago area.

Sorry to hear that ... luckily you were close and got your trade and your check back. First story like that I have heard. I wonder what went wrong. Did you smell gas? If it was a busted fuel line I think you would see fuel dripping to the ground with the ignition switch turned on. (Of course with all of the plastic underneath the G35 you might not... and the ignition switch turning on could make for a good explosion.)

I Smelled gas after it happened and it was still dripping when they had it on the flatbed. They are going to look at it tomorrow. Not sure if I am going to take the car back...really depends on what the service manager says and I am involving my bro-in-law who is a mechanic. He actually told me that stuff like that happen all of the time on new cars and if the new car inspection is not done correctly. We'll see. Thanks for the post. I really want to be a G35 owner!! I know if I pass this car over, I'll be waiting a long time (especially for the stuff I want in it).

My bro-in-law thinks they did not tighten or check it during their new car inspection...the service guy told me they never check those because they usually come tightened...first time for everything. My problem is that if that is the only thing wrong, should I get the car?

That is REAL harsh. Glad you're okay and nothing happened to you while it happened. See if the dealer can cut you a better deal on the car since this has happened and say that this has taken up too much of your time and what not. However, do what you feel is right and if not, than that usually means not to go for it. GL with everything.
Hope my G35 doesn't do that to us when we pick it up.

I just got the car back...it was definitely the fuel line..no big deal. Greg at Libertyville Infiniti (Illinois) took great care of me. Let's hope I do not eat my words on that. Looking forward to enjoying it. Greg if you read this, I am expecting my license plate frame at no charge (my 30th is in September).

we ordered our g35 from greg at libertyville infiniti also. i hope our car shows up ok. it had to be ordered for the navi, so end of aug delivery is what is expected. so far, libertyville infiniti seems good...no experience other than the purchase negotiations. how has your experience been?

I think the buying of a car..no matter what it is, is frustrating. I like them though despite my problems and heard they have great service from a lot of people. I work in Vernon Hills, live in Mt. Prospect, so I plan on using their service in Libertyville.

That was fixed by a recall apperently. The fuel line was not attached properly. Easy fix but make sure nothing else is damaged. Also, b*tch about it and get some $$$ back from then!
