wrong gas
My wife was "nice" enough to fill my tank for me... with 87. Now it runs like poo, of course. I read that the ecu is going to compensate for it by changing the timing or something to that effect. What I'm wondering is, how long after putting good gas back into it will it take to readjust back to normal? Also, would it help to reset anything myself?

+1! just take it easy for that tank. id suggest keeping the shifts under 3500rpm so your ecu isnt forced to retard your timing. youll know if your laying into her too much, youll hear a very audible pinging from under the hood.

yep, you should hear some ping under throttle. you can add some octane booster if you want but that won't do much. you might still hear some pinging into the next tank of premium but it will go away eventually.
then again some have said they use regular frequently and never hear pinging so who knows.

Please!!!! the "tune" is very very minimal.. Barely makes a different... Don't call my posts "BS" because I've gone ahead and done all this myself personally and experienced it... Lets not forget that I was running 87 in 120+ temps in AZ.. Felt no difference and saw no difference in MPG either... no "pinging" or "knocking"
You're BS.
