Stillen & eBay Engine Damper
I got one from ebay, it was blue though.. no noticable difference in response of the engine. which is what it is claiming. it claims to give back the small amount of power that get lost in engine movement. i paid around 70 for mine. you get better performance from 100 plus octane fuel. so go get u some racing fuel and blow out your cats!!
I installed the ebay one tonight, I have a feeling I know why your broke. Whay do you have the end caps unscrewed so far? Looks like you adjusted it wrong. Mine are scred all the way in and the shaft was unscrewed to get the correct length.
have you used one? I think it does have a benefit. I decided on the cheaper one because even people with the Stillen are having problems with them breaking. I got mine for $40 shipped on Ebay. It breaks, oh well. A $180 one breaks, that sucks.
From my first drive it seems to really make the engine, transmission, car one solid working machine. There is a little more vibration at idle, but at any constant rpm above that I dont notice it. Taking off from a stop (regular driving) feels sharper and more direct, shifting is also easier and more direct.
I say it is well worth $40 or $70. Not sure if I would spend $180 on it though.

man...i didn't feel sh*t when i installed mine... well there was slightly more steering wheel vibration during idle but....if i had to do it again, i wouldn't waste my time on it.
it looks really cool though, but again not worth the pain and time to install.
the install took a good 1 1/2hr with a lot of cussing and scraping of hands...unless if you have really small hands it might be easier
thats my 2 cents on that

auto or 6 speed? this biggest difference for me is shifting in the 6mt.
Install was a bitch but only took about a half hour. The right tools definitely made it easier. If I were stuck using allen wrenches, I woulda been cussing too! haha

I have it on AT... didn't notice a thing... I have heard good feedback from MT though...
seems ground wires work for AT (not MT) and engine damper works for MT (not AT)...
by the way - to the post about solid engine mounts - on a dedicated track car maybe, but they would introduce way too much vibration (for me) on a primarily street car... plus, you would need to be putting down some pretty big power to even make it worth while... I'll keep my liquid filled cushy mounts

if u dont want vibrations why would you get an engine damper? on my rsx the vibrations from the damper were just as bad (and more annoying because of the location it rattled the dash) then my solid mounts...although im not sure what vq mounts are like
I didn't notice any more vibration with the damper than without it... but my car is far from quiet or smooth anyway...
I guarantee that solid engine mounts will introduce way more vibration than any engine damper.

they are liquid filled... absorbs much (most) vibration...
