I just got back my first oil analysis from Blackstone. Thanks to Chinee and those over at bobistheoilguy for their insight...

Oil analysis looks good

The history of my car:

-Stayed under 4k RPM for first 1200 miles
-Changed to Mobil 5W-30 SS at 3835 miles with new OEM oil filter
-Changed oil again with Mobil 5W-30 SS at 7421 miles with M-108 filter. Note that I was concerned after this oil change because I only drained out 3.5 qts of oil
-Between 7,421 and 11,749 miles, I had to add a total of 1 QT of make-up oil to keep within H/L marking. 4.5 months between oil change.

At the 11,749 oil changed, I changed to a M-110 filter. I will continue to monitor my oil level, but will extend my OCI to the recommended 5500 mile mark.

$1.52 for postage to send in your sample
$10 for TBN (optional) - this tells you how much active additive you have left in your oil. good if you want to run extended oil change intervals.

Thanks for the link. I oredered a kit just now. How big of a sample do they require? I am thinking of doing the wife's SI.

they only need 4 fl oz. i was quite suprised when i go tmy sample kit cause it was really small, but i guess it wouldnt matter though.
