Engine Start - RPM drop
It seems like it might not be doing the low idle thing since I got it back but I haven't driven much.
the cleaner probably has alcohol in it which makes it dry within seconds..
also change ur air filter.. The MAF sensor cleaning fixed low idle/turn off in a Toyota I was working on also..
Well there's no SES light code so an educated guess would be harder to make. My bets are on MAF cleaning or vacuum leak fix. If the issue was on the throttle body you would more likely be throwing a code or two....but what do I know!
I found a great service shop. Specializes in Infiniti and Nissan models. He was the shop lead at an Infiniti dealership and now has his own shop. I took him the Infiniti estimate and told him what was going on. It got so bad that the car actually started stalling, initially he though the throttle body needed replacing, turns out some sensors were going bad, he replaced both for the price of one, cleaned the throttle body for no charge (said he was bored) then replaced my oil and added some type of engine booster stuff (yeah, I'm a chick)...all for no charge. Car runs like a dream.
I take my car only to him now and refer anybody and everybody over there. PM me if you're interested in a great service shop in the Austell, GA area.

I had the same problem, but more frequent, everytime the engine was warm it would try to start and than the RPMs dipped. CLEAN the MAF with MAF cleaner ($4). If you still have the same problem clean the throttle body (theres videos on how to do it). I did both the MAF and throttle body its been almost a month and no probs at all!

I have the same problem. I've noticed this on short errand trips. The engine starts at normal RPMs and then drop so low that the engine stalls out. My first attempt to fix this at Infiniti only resulted in them raising the idle by 100RPMs. I will return to Infiniti with what I've learned from the previous posts. Thanks guys.

Possibilities that exibit this:
#1) Vacuum leak -
#2) Dirty Throttle Body
#3) Dirty MAF
If its stock, I would bet its the Throttle Body first, then the MAF, then the Vacuum.

more or less the same problem but just worse. still haven't resolved it i have to turn the key at leased twice or some time 3 n 4 time to crank mine up. have g sedan. the thread that says rough idle at start up ...
Just came back from the dealer. I had them check for a dirty throttle body, dirty mass air flow sensor, and a vacuum leak. All of them checked okay. They couldn't recreate the problem, but they did update the software for the ECU. So far, so good.
I drove the car for awhile, but the problem returned. I took it back to the dealer and they called Infiniti Corporate. They tested the fuel pump and found random pressure drops. They replaced the fuel pump. I got the car back and drove it for a day and the problem returned. They are now replacing the fuel injectors. The car only has 33K miles on it. I get the car back tomorrow. We'll see what happens then. At this point, I figure they are just replacing parts they THINK is causing the problem.
Dont rule out cheap gas...just because you think youre paying for 91-93 doesnt mean youre getting it..
monitor where you get gas....there is one gas station that makes my car idle funny...cheap azz SHELL by my house...so i drive 2 miles away to AMMACO.
throw BG44K in the tank every 4 or 5 tanks...its 26 bucks in VA, hard to find, but simply the best fuel system cleaner you can get without a pressurized expensive set up from a shop.
After you put this in a full tank...REFILL at half a tank again. Its that strong...mixed with 26 gallons...we only have a 15.5 gallon tank if I am not mistaken.
