engine problem...help!

k long story short i was coming back from brea mall and i stopped to get some food once i turned on the car and drove...i felt a power loss to the wheels and my exhaust sounded really weird like a lawn mower at first i thought it was my oil maybe i was low so i stopped again and added oil then took it to a mechanic he said it sounds like an exhaust issue and he doesnt really know since i have an aftermarket exhaust. so i took it to a muffler/exhaust shop they said i have two leaks on the pipes so rewelded it...now after all that i found out that that wasnt the primary problem the car rattles and rants and is not smooth ride and it doesnt sound the same i dont know what it could be and now my sevice engine light is on sorry im such a noob so ill appreciate all the info and feedbacks. i only got a intake header exhaust setup on the car please HELP!

i felt like i read that all in one breath haha

but seriously, your best bet is to take it to the dealer if you're still under warranty or extended warranty. take it to one of the more mod friendly dealers in socal.

Don't worry- it is probably something simple. If you can, drive the car to a Advance Auto Parts or Autozone that is close by and ask them to use a scan tool to pull the code for the check engine light. They will do it for free. Your problem sounds like something sensor related.

Did you get the code(s) pulled? This might be something very simple. Looking at your modifications, I am willing to bet that you have a sensor issue. It could be something as simple as a connector that is loose.
