Exclamation Cel blinking

Car is misfiring from time to time, and when it does the Check Engine Light pops on and blinks.

Progressively it's getting worst, before it would just cause small vibrations while at idle but then it would go away rapidly, during these times no CEL's came on. Recently it started acting up in the highway.

What culprits can this be caused by?

What are the risks of driving while a BLINKING CEL?

Also, why doesn't it save the code on the memory so that it could be scanned?

BLINKING = random cylinder misfire. Hence why your engine is shaking and such.

chances are a dead coilpack is very likely, but also can be due to vac line leaks, bad plugs, some un-metered air leak. MAF sensor, fuel problems.

there is a code saved on there, how are you scanning it and with what... you should have "random cylinder misfire code " and sometimes if you lucky a following code stating which cylinder.

I have an Actron OBD scanner, check it and no codes were saved...

I have a feeling its either a coil pack, or the MAF...

I did the old brake cleaner spray on vac lines yesterday and nothing... fkn CRUD i hate diagnostic problems the car doesnt want to help with...

when the engine on, disconnect each coilpack one by one, when you disconnect it, it should shake more. if you come across one that isn't shaking more that would most likely be your missing cylinder.

this is if your are experiencing a DEAD miss. Not a miss under load or at idle. you can always pull the plug and see what it looks like,

hows the vac lines look overall? I haven't seen what the g35's vac lines look like yet or if there are common bends that break overtime.

MAF,

Due to cleaning the MAF it was prematurely damaged.

EDIT

MAF was just fine,

Problem happened at the dealer again while we installed the new MAF, and we plugged in the consult...

Cyl 4 Misfire,

Upon further investigation, the plug was off by 2 mm's... pushed the plug back in and VIOLA.... Saved $500.00

Congrats....I'm having somewhat similar issues. Gives me some good starting points for diagnosis.
